Overview:


Sarron is a handloom based contemporary clothing brand based in West Bengal. We are hiring a Senior Textile Designer focused on handloom textiles for clothing for India as well as EU, UK and US export markets. We are looking for a self-starter, creative individual keen to innovate and develop unique designs for the fashion industry.


Key responsibilities:


  • Experience with handloom weaving, extensive knowledge of weaving techniques and different kinds of Indian weaves like Jamdani, designed for the aesthetic preferences of Indian as well as global markets
  • Expertise in various sampling techniques, weaving, block printing, surface design techniques, and dyeing
  • Commitment to stay on top of the latest industry trends and innovations, with the ability to incorporate these into new designs
  • Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD software, to create visually compelling designs
  • Exceptional artistic ability, demonstrating quick turnaround times in creating original artworks and motifs
  • Detailed attention to the intricacies of weaving and fabric construction, ensuring the highest quality in textile design
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to project management


Candidate Profile:


  • Degree in Textile Design from esteemed institutions like NID, NIFT and others
  • Capable of working with broad guidance, understanding market requirements and delivering CADs and artwork within set timelines
  • Proficient in English, with strong communication skills
  • Experienced with design software including Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Seasoned professional with ability to experiment, create and lead things on their own, with equal focus on constant communication 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Textiles sector, preferably within handloom weaving industry focused on contemporary designs
  • Strong knowledge in weaving techniques is highly preferable, indicating an extensive understanding of textile production and design complexities
