About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic trading environment as an operational trader. The Operations team is a critical part of the trading effort, responsible for ensuring that information and ideas are accurate, controlled, and efficient. As a Trading Operations Analyst, you will act as a key liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers. You will be responsible for assisting traders with all administrative tasks and projects, including maintaining trade positions, managing profit and loss (P&L) reports, and facilitating information exchange.

This role is distinct from traditional trading positions as there is no P&L risk associated with it. You will be expected to have a comprehensive "front-to-back" understanding of the trading lifecycle, from execution to end-of-day reconciliation. You will play a vital support role in a fast-paced and highly intellectual environment, providing critical operational assistance while upholding exchange compliance and regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities

Daily Trading Support & Reconciliation

• Compile and reconcile daily trades, transactions, and positions.
• Prepare and submit delivery instructions for proprietary trading.
• Assist with maintaining position, P&L, and information exchange.
• Update and manage all exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.

Operational & Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain and manage operational processes according to regulatory frameworks to ensure full exchange compliance.
• Act as a liaison between desk traders and other dealers, brokers, and all internal departments.
• Run appropriate desk projects and initiatives to improve the capability of the Front Office team.

Execution & Technical Assistance

• Use algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders11.
• Provide support on systemic ways of executing trades and assist with testing and piloting new trading mechanisms.
• Assist with the continuous improvement of Front Office applications through technology and automation.

Desired Profile

Education

• A strong academic record from a leading institution is preferred, an engineering background is a plus.
• Mandatory NISM Certifications are required before joining:
• NISM-Series-VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination
• NISM Series VII: Securities Operations and Risk Management Certification Examination
• NISM-Series-XVI: Commodity Derivatives Certification Examination
• NISM Series-XIII: Common Derivatives Certification Examination

Experience

• 3 -7 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a trading support or operations role.
• Experience should demonstrate a holistic, front-to-back understanding of the trading lifecycle, including reconciliation, P&L, and trade booking.
• We value candidates who have managed a broader range of responsibilities, rather than those who've has highly siloed roles.
• Experience with equity and derivatives markets is essential.

Skills & Attributes

• Technical Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of equity and equity derivatives is a must. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, is required. Python or SQL skills are preferred but not mandatory.
• Problem-Solving: The ability to be a self-starter, a quick learner, and a resourceful problem-solver is critical. You must be able to maintain composure under pressure.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Mindset: A detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving, intellectual environment. You must be a reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanor, who is humble and not afraid to ask questions.
