Strategic Privacy and Legal Expert

Privacy Compliance ProfessionalWe are seeking an experienced legal professional to oversee privacy, legal compliance, internal audits, and operational privacy management for our physical campuses across India.The candidate will report to the group's Global Data Protection Officer, who reports to our General Counsel. This role involves exposure to our cross-functional teams and external partners, including universities, clients, and vendors.Develop campus-wide privacy compliance strategies in accordance with Indian data protection laws (the Digital Personal Data Protection Act) and relevant international regulations.Conduct regular privacy and data protection audits across all campuses; identify risks, recommend, and track remediation measures.Coordinate with operational teams to ensure robust processes for handling personal data, and provide legal and strategic advice on privacy issues.Draft, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Review and negotiate contracts, including drafting and negotiating data processing agreements.Conduct privacy impact assessments.Organize and deliver ongoing privacy awareness and training for employees and faculty members.Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data privacy.Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Advise on the need and rationale for changes required within the Institute.
