Senior Programmer PositionThe role of the Senior Programmer II is to provide programming support to the statistics and programming department across a range of projects, clients, and therapeutic areas.Key ResponsibilitiesThe study programmer position will be responsible for manipulating large databases and generating reports to enable analysts to explore real-world healthcare data assets. Candidates must have excellent SAS and SQL programming skills and the ability to implement complex logic. Candidates must be comfortable with creating complex analysis datasets derived from various data sources with a careful eye for outliers and errors. Prior experience building patient cohorts and evaluating patient healthcare events in large databases and using observational research methods such as epidemiology and statistical methods is strongly desired.Real World Healthcare claims database experience is a must. Any equivalent EU database experience to US Market scan/Optum is fine.OMOP-Common Data Model experience is a huge plus. We are fine with someone with even 1 year of experience familiar with this experience.Strong communication, time management, enthusiasm, and documentation skills are essential in this position.Technical Skills Required:Proficient in R and SQL programmingExpertise in Oncology databases such as Flatiron, COTAHas good understanding of Oncology specific analyses such as Line of Therapy algorithms, Survival Analysis, different statistical modelsPreferable to have R Shiny or Instant Health Data (IHD) experienceExperience with Analytic Datasets, patient cohorts are good to haveGeneral Requirements:Lead internal and client study team meetings effectivelyPresent study updates internally and at client meetingsShare scientific, technical, and practical knowledge within the team and with colleaguesPerform work in full compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, procedures, and trainingBuild effective collaborative working relationships with internal and client team membersSeek opportunities to develop innovative ideas, sharing when appropriateLine management or mentorship of more junior team membersContribution to development of internal training materialsContribution to internal process improvement initiativesMinimum Qualification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other subject with high statistical contentMinimum four years SAS statistical programming experienceDatabase programming using SQLExperience with advanced statistical methods such as survival and regressionExperience with real-world healthcare claims and EHR data such as MarketScan, Optum, Flatiron Health, SEER medicare and Medicare databasesOther Information/Additional Requirements:Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other subject with high statistical contentTraining or experience using the OMOP common data modelTraining or experience with Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based softwarePharmaceutical industry experienceTraining or experience in epidemiological methods
