About the OpportunityWe are seeking a talented Data Science Intern to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative AI tools in the FinTech space.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis, statistical techniques, and machine learning algorithms. You will work on cutting-edge projects involving financial data analysis, investment research, and risk modelling.As a Data Scientist intern, you will engage in multiple mini-projects or take up a focused innovation-based research project. The project experience is designed to provide practical exposure to data science in the context of asset management, trading, and financial technology.You will be responsible for:Data cleaning, wrangling, and pre-processing for financial datasets.Assisting investment teams in equity research, fixed income research, portfolio management, and economic analysis.Applying statistical techniques to financial problems such as credit risk modelling, probability of default, and value-at-risk estimation.Working with big data sources including financial reports, macroeconomic datasets, and alternative investment data.Analysing, visualizing, and modelling financial data using Python, Excel, or R.Participating in research projects related to quantitative trading, financial derivatives, and portfolio optimization.To succeed in this role, you should possess:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Able to self-learn and work independently in a remote, flexible environment.BASIC knowledge of Excel, Python, or R script can help complete the projects quicker.Internship DetailsDuration: Option of 1 month, 2 month, 3 month, 4 month or 6 monthsTiming: Self-paced.Type: Unpaid internship.This opportunity offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in data science, build your professional network, and develop valuable skills in the FinTech industry.
