We are looking for an experienced Ethernet Switching System Architect with 15+ years of hands-on experience in
development of Ethernet Switching product, with a deep understanding of switching hardware and software
architectures, Chipsets and associated NOS ecosystem and network management and orchestration systems. This
role requires a strategic thinker who can define Ethernet switching products and their roadmap in alignment with
current market requirements and envisage future product trends and accordingly plan evluate of the products.
Key Responsibilities
Shall be responsible to:
1. Lead the design and development of Ethernet Switching products using inhouse and/or ODM hardware
ecosystem and NOS choices available in the market, delivering high performance, reliable, and scalable
products
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications
3. Develop and maintain Switching hardware and software architecture documentation, including design
diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment guides
4. Oversee thorough testing and validation of switching product variants to ensure compliance with industry
standards and customer requirements
5. Work with inhouse teams, ODMs, Chipsets and NOS providers to drive roadmap and feature development in
line with customer commitments
6. Work with NMS/EMS teams to drive effective management and operations capability for Switching products.
7. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in Switching technology and integrate relevant innovations into
our products
9. Troubleshoot and resolve complex deployments and other technical and architectural issues in a timely
manner
10. Engage with PLM and Sales teams to understand customer needs and provide expert advice on switching
solutions
Key Deliverables
1. Deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable switching products and solutions
2. Maintain comprehensive system architecture, design documentation and product roadmaps
3. Work with QA to define detailed test plans and validation strategies
4. Drive creation of technical training material and mentorship programs for team members
5. Work with solution engineering teams to ensure seamless 3rd party product/system integration with HFCL
products and help craft pre-emptive solutions for various deployment scenarios
6. Regular updates and reports on project progress and technical challenges
7. Continuous improvements in products with new and enhanced feature sets matching industry competition
and standards

Required Preferred
• B. Tech/M Tech – ECE or CS

Mandatory Skills/ Certification
• In-depth knowledge of systems design principles, including software architecture, real-time systems, and
resource management
• In-depth knowledge of network operating systems (NOS) with experience in SONIC is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of L1-L7 networking and communication protocols and technologies including but
not limited to L2 (VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, ERPS), L3 (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, ISIS, MPLS), QoS, Multicast (IGMP,
PIM), VPN protocols
• Good understanding of Switching SoC/chipset architectures, wireless drivers and SDK from the leading
vendors (Broadcom/Marvell etc.)
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded target systems
• Solid programming experience in C or C++
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Strong documentation and writing skills
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex networking issues
• Strong understanding of network management system
• Strong project management and organizational abilities
