Job DescriptionLead a team of underwriters to meet all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to any and all functions in the Mortgage underwriting area.Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports for seamless operations management.Coordinate activities with the manager to include workflow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting and special projects.Provide recommendations for strategic initiatives and process improvements to add value to teams and clients.Coordinate with internal support teams to ensure efficient production by the operations team.Resolve complex escalated queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Lead, coach, motivate and develop associates to deliver high-quality reports to clients to achieve or exceed set operational targets.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, and generate reports as necessary.Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a group of associates to meet all SLAs related to any and all functions in the Mortgage underwriting area.Experience in income calculation, 4Cs, and thorough understanding of the underwriting process.Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports for accurate tracking.Coordinate activities with the manager to include workflow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting and special projects.Provide recommendations for strategic initiatives and process improvements to add value to teams and clients.Coordinate with internal support teams to ensure efficient production by the operations team.Resolve complex escalated queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Lead, coach, motivate and develop associates to deliver high-quality reports to clients to achieve or exceed set operational targets.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, and generate reports as necessary.Requirements:Demonstrated knowledge of the US Mortgage Industry with Mortgage underwriting experience.Familiarity with different types of mortgages and their functionality, as well as the ability to read various origination documents.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to understand and communicate effectively with vendors/clients.Strong customer service skills, negotiation skills, and leadership abilities are required.Attention to detail with strong analytical skills and ability to make informed decisions based on the situation.Ability to analyze numbers and reconcile data as needed.Experience with reporting and analysis is essential.Good email etiquette is necessary.Ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve issues efficiently.Experience working in a team-oriented environment.Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
