Job Description:

Bummer, a dynamic and fast-growing D2C innerwear brand, is seeking an experienced and motivated Sourcing & Merchandising Manager to join our team in Ahmedabad. This role is crucial to managing and optimizing our end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to overseeing the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of knitwear fabrics, costing, and efficient inventory management, combined with strong vendor management skills and a passion for innovation in the textile industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee and manage the entire supply chain process for Bummer, ensuring smooth and efficient operations from sourcing to final product delivery.
  • Fabric & Production Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of knitwear fabrics, CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) processes, and inventory management to optimize production efficiency and quality.
  • Cost Management: Develop and implement effective costing strategies, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Negotiate costing with potential vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Vendor Communication & Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment with timelines and quality expectations. Communicate effectively to manage expectations and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Research & Development (R&D): Lead R&D initiatives by researching industry innovations and trends, identifying opportunities for Bummer to incorporate new technologies or processes into our product lines.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC): Conduct regular QA/QC operations at partner factories to ensure that all products meet Bummer’s quality standards. This may involve multiple trips to factories across India throughout the year.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Textile Engineering, Knitwear Design, Garment Construction, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sourcing, merchandising, or supply chain management within the textile or apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of knitwear fabrics, CMT processes, and inventory management.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a focus on cost efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to travel frequently to factories across India.
