A global Engineering, R & D Services (ERD) company.
Role: Discipline Head - Electrical
Location: Vadodara, Gujarat (Work from office)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all electrical engineering activities related to piping systems across projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and organizational standards
- Lead engineering design activities for Basic, FEED, and Detail Engineering, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and best practices.
- Oversee engineering excellence for EPC and EPCM-LSTK projects, from concept to commissioning and start-up stages.
- Conduct feasibility studies, refurbishment, and revamping of electrical distribution systems.
- Design and validate HV/LV electrical distribution systems, including SLDs, equipment sizing, switchgear selection, schematics, layouts, and material take-offs.
- Develop and review technical specifications, datasheets, and design standards, ensuring alignment with IS/IEC/NEC/NFPA/NEMA codes.
- Manage and validate vendor/OEM documents, technical bid evaluations, and inspections (FAT/SAT).
- Implement ELV systems, including access control, CCTV, fire alarm, public address systems, and data/LAN networks.
- Mentor and train team members through on-the-job sessions, fostering knowledge enhancement and skill development.
- Drive value engineering and benchmarking practices to implement innovative solutions and best practices.
- Plan and handle maintenance resources to optimize downtime, improve technical efficiencies, and meet budget targets.
- Perform energy assessments using advanced trends and techniques to explore energy-saving opportunities.
Candidate Profile:
- 20+ years of experience in electrical engineering for piping systems, with a strong background in Basic, FEED, and Detail Engineering for greenfield and brownfield projects
- In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, utilities, and equipment design and operation.
- Proficiency in electrical equipment sizing for transformers, generators, HV/LV cables, and protective systems.
- Familiarity with best practices such as OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and energy-saving initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, monitor, and maintain engineering budgets while achieving operational cost targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
