About the Client:
A global Engineering, R & D Services (ERD) company.
Role : Discipline Head - Piping
Location : Vadodara, Gujarat (Work from office)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all piping-related engineering activities within the organization.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for the piping discipline in alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of piping engineers and designers.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure deliverables meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and construction teams for seamless execution.
- Deputation to construction sites to resolve design-related issues during construction.
- Plan and schedule piping activities in alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare progress reports and presentations for management reviews.
- Oversee piping design activities, including layout, material selection, stress analysis, and specifications.
- Review and approve piping deliverables such as isometric drawings, P&IDs, and material take-offs.
- Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and value engineering exercises.
- Ensure all piping activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Interact with clients for technical discussions and procurement-related tasks.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a piping engineering / related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in piping design and engineering in the oil & gas, petrochemical, FMCG, or related industries.
- At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proficiency in piping design software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, SmartPlant 3D, or PDMS.
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, welding, and construction processes.
- Expertise in international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API 570).
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal capabilities.
