Role: Discipline Head - Piping
Location: Vadodara, Gujarat (Work from office)
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all piping-related engineering activities within the organization.2. Define and execute the technical strategy for the piping discipline in alignment with organizational goals.3. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of piping engineers and designers.4. Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of projects.5. Monitor project schedules and ensure deliverables meet deadlines.6. Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and construction teams for seamless execution.7. Deputation to construction sites to resolve design-related issues during construction.8. Plan and schedule piping activities in alignment with project requirements.9. Prepare progress reports and presentations for management reviews.10. Oversee piping design activities, including layout, material selection, stress analysis, and specifications.11. Review and approve piping deliverables such as isometric drawings, P&IDs, and material take-offs.12. Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and value engineering exercises.13. Ensure all piping activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations14. Interact with clients for technical discussions and procurement-related tasks.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a piping engineering / related field.- Minimum 15 years of experience in piping design and engineering in the oil & gas, petrochemical, FMCG, or related industries.- At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.- Proficiency in piping design software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, SmartPlant 3D, or PDMS.- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, welding, and construction processes.- Expertise in international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API 570).- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.- Effective communication and interpersonal capabilities.
