Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in agriculture, remote sensing, and information technology. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, analyze data, and provide insights that will shape strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of agricultural practices, remote sensing technologies, and IT systems, and should be able to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements related to agriculture, remote sensing, and IT projects.
Analyze and interpret remote sensing data, that includes satellite imagery, to provide actionable insights into agricultural projects.
Conduct data-driven analysis to support project goals, focusing on crop health monitoring, yield estimation, and environmental impact assessment.
Develop and present detailed business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for new projects.
Create project documentation, including requirements specifications, process flows, and user guides, ensuring clarity for all team members.
Work with IT teams to ensure that remote sensing and agricultural data is effectively integrated into software platforms and applications.
Coordinate with stakeholders across departments, including IT, agriculture, and project management, to ensure alignment on project deliverables and timelines.
Design and implement data visualization and reporting tools to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Monitor industry trends in agriculture and remote sensing to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Provide ongoing support to ensure projects meet quality standards and align with business objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Remote Sensing, Information Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on agriculture, remote sensing, and IT projects.
Strong understanding of agricultural processes, crop monitoring, and environmental assessments.
Proficiency in remote sensing tools and technologies such as Google Earth Engine, and satellite data interpretation.
Familiarity with agricultural data management and relevant software solutions (e.g., QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, SNAP).
Demonstrated experience with data analysis, business process mapping, and requirement gathering.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate technical information for business stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a results-oriented mindset.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of machine learning and data science applications in agriculture and remote sensing.
Experience working with agronomic databases, crop modeling, and yield prediction.
Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or relevant project management certification.
Experience working on government or international development projects focused on agriculture or environmental sustainability.
