About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lab Manager to lead our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory operations in Bengaluru. The lab specializes in RNA-Seq, qPCR, and other advanced molecular assays. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing high-throughput NGS labs, setting up new laboratory spaces, and scaling operations to handle large volumes of samples efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lab Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the NGS laboratory, ensuring adherence to strict quality control, timelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and consumables to avoid workflow disruptions.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with biosafety and data integrity standards.
  • Assay Development and Execution:
  • Manage and optimize workflows for RNA-Seq, qPCR, and other molecular assays to ensure high-quality, reproducible results.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance lab capabilities.
  • Scaling Operations:
  • Plan and execute strategies to scale lab operations for high-throughput sample processing, including resource planning, automation, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet increasing sample volumes while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Recruit, train, and manage a multidisciplinary team of lab technicians and scientists.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment focused on innovation and excellence.
  • Lab Setup and Expansion:
  • Lead the design and setup of new lab spaces, including procurement of equipment and establishing workflows.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of lab infrastructure.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genomics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing molecular biology labs, including significant exposure to NGS and qPCR workflows.
  • Proven track record of setting up and scaling lab operations for high-throughput applications.
  • Strong understanding of molecular assay development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with laboratory automation and data management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
