System Administrator Job DescriptionJob Title: System Administrator - Linux Software Repository MaintainerNakshatra Systems is seeking an experienced and skilled system administrator to maintain the integrity of a software repository. This part-time contract-based position requires 6 hours of work per day, with a job tenure of 6 months, renewable for another 6 months based on performance.The ideal candidate will have a good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility for remote logins and work. They should also be proficient in linux, bash scripting, C and python.Key responsibilities include compiling and creating software from source code, knowledge of gcc and its cflags dflags prefix etc, keeping track of software dependencies, patching, and maintaining changelogs and other documentation.Other requirements include reviewing changes, providing bug fixes, connecting with upstream developers for solutions, and having good troubleshooting skills.Apart from technical skills, the candidate should be fluent in English with good verbal and written skills, able to work independently as well as in a team, and resolve assigned tasks within specified time-frames/deadlines.Requirements:Proficient in linux, bash scripting, C and pythonCompiling and creating software from source codeKnowledge of gcc and its cflags dflags prefix etcKeeping track of software dependenciesPatchingMaintaining Changelog and other documentationProviding bug fixesReviewing changesKnowledge of cvs and gitConnecting with upstream developer for solutions if needed to get issues resolvedGood troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of Slackware Linux is a huge plusNon-technical skills requiredShould be fluent in english with good verbal and written skillsAbility to work in a team as well as independentlyShould be able to resolve assigned tasks in the specified time-frame/deadlinesBenefits: Part-time contract-based positionJob tenure of 6 months, renewable for another 6 months based on performanceRemote work option availableHow To Apply:Please submit your application with relevant skills and qualifications.
