Electrical Design Engineer RoleWe are seeking an accomplished Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for developing electrical systems for various projects.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed electrical BOQs, technical specifications, and data sheets for LV, MV, and HT equipment and ancillaries.Coordinate with contractors, check and approve shop drawings/site visits as required.Work closely with other discipline leads, project management teams, and clients to execute EPC type power projects.Evaluate electrical system models, including grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analysis using software tools like ETAP, SKM, and CDEGS.Develop protective relay settings, perform calculations, and coordinate studies.Procure, review vendor drawings, and conduct factory acceptance testing for electrical equipment.Prepare engineering cost estimates and schedules.Produce electrical deliverables, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, interconnection drawings, cable schedules, panel schedules, and power, grounding, and lighting layouts for constructing/installing new or modifying existing power generating facility electrical systems.Collaborate with clients, vendors, or management teams.Take instructions from Lead Engineers.Understand job activities, project-specific requirements, and time schedules.Prepare Electrical Design basis.Utilize relevant software to ensure cost-effective work and trouble-free plant operation.Perform tasks in accordance with department procedures, company procedures.Familiarize yourself with applicable specifications and technical requirements to verify vendor interpretations.Maintain effective communication within task force members, save correspondence/documents in respective working folders, and prepare DCI of the project for progress reporting.Requirements:Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.Relevant experience in electrical design in a consultancy organization for transmission and distribution systems, up to 400kV AC systems.Experience with utility companies in the UK/Europe/Middle East will be preferred. Experience in design of HV/LV electrical systems for Oil & Gas projects would be an added advantage.Conversant in electrical design software – Dialux, ETAP.Computer literacy in MS Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD/3D Modelling Software like Revit.Ability to work independently with lead office as part of an integrated team.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Inclination to use technology to bring innovative solutions.Self-motivated individual with keen interest to learn new skills and add value to the team/organization.Able to express easily in English.
