Founded in 1997, Watertec specializes in 360 degree hygiene and sustainable bathroom solutions across India, offering comprehensive plumbing solutions including Polymer Bath Fittings, Pipes, CP Bath Fittings and Sanitaryware. Bath Fittings accounted for 75% of last years 570 Crore revenue. With 3 state of art highly automated manufacturing units, 33 service centers, 38 warehouse, 4000+ dealer/distributor base along with 1000+ strong workforce, have helped them acquire strong leadership position in polymer bath fittings market in Southern part of India. In 2023, Warburg Pincus, US based Private Equity Firm, has acquired Watertec India and appointed new leadership team across functions for growth and transformation of the organization. The Warburg Pincus has invested in more than 1000 companies globally till date and for the past 25 years across Asia in companies like ICICI Bank, Havells, Boat, IDFC, Ola, Biba Apparel, Apollo Tyre, PVR Cinema, Kalyan Jewellers, Airtel etc.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to oversee the product lifecycle and drive business growth in the Sanitaryware and CP Fittings segment. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the market, a passion for new product development, and a proven ability to collaborate across teams and vendors to deliver superior results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Market Research & Competition Benchmarking:
o Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, consumer needs, and competitor strategies.
o Benchmark product offerings against competitors to ensure market relevance and positioning.
• Product Portfolio Management:
o Oversee the management of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer preferences.
o Continuously evaluate product performance and make data-driven decisions for product line optimization.
• New Product Development & Launch (GTM):
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute new product development (NPD) initiatives.
o Define and implement go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new product launches, driving awareness and adoption.
• Quality Management:
o Ensure adherence to quality standards across the product lifecycle by working closely with the quality assurance team.
o Implement processes to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Vendor Collaboration:
o Work closely with vendors to define technical specifications, validate costs, and ensure the timely delivery of components.
o Negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs without compromising quality.
• Collaboration with Design Team:
o Partner with the design team to develop innovative, cost-effective product designs that meet market requirements.
o Focus on cost optimization strategies during the NPD process to enhance profitability.
• Pricing Strategy & Margin Management:
o Develop and implement pricing strategies to achieve competitive positioning while ensuring optimal profit margins.
o Monitor and adjust pricing in response to market conditions, competitor actions, and business objectives.
Candidate Profile Requirements:
• Experience:
o Minimum 5 years of experience in product management within the Faucets & Sanitaryware industry.
• Skills:
o Strong knowledge of product development processes, from concept to commercialization.
o Excellent understanding of the sanitaryware market and customer needs.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
o Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
o Proven track record of managing pricing and margins to drive business growth.
