About This RoleThe Underwriting Team Lead plays a pivotal part in ensuring the success of our mortgage underwriting operations. As a seasoned leader, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding a team of associates to achieve exceptional results.Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and driving high-performance standards throughout the team.Maintain accurate and comprehensive production reports, providing actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, optimize workflows, and ensure seamless operations.Develop and implement training programs designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of your team members.Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including managers and support teams, to ensure effective communication and coordination.Make informed recommendations on strategic initiatives and process enhancements, leveraging data-driven insights to drive business value.Empower your team to excel, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to help them reach their full potential.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, and other key metrics, using data to inform personnel decisions and drive continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a group of associates to meet all SLA's related to mortgage underwriting functions.Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.Coordinate activities with the manager to include workflow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting, and special projects.Provide recommendations for strategies and process improvements to add value to teams and clients.C coordinate with other internal support teams to ensure seamless production by the operations team.Resolve complex escalated queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Ensure staff performance meets or exceeds set operational targets through effective leadership, coaching, and motivation.Generate reports as necessary to monitor and evaluate staff performance and attendance.Our Ideal Candidate:We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Team Lead who possesses excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of driving results in fast-paced environments.
