Job Title: Senior Accounting ManagerDepartment: Financial ServicesReporting to: Senior Vice PresidentWork hours: Pacific Time Zone (PST)Job type: Full-time, RemoteJob Summary:The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the financial accounting functions within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations and cash management, including periodic financial reports, accounting records maintenance, controls, budgets, and ensuring reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Duties:Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Coordinate and facilitate the construction draw process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activities.Manage the yearly audit and tax compliance process, ensuring complete, accurate, and available information for tax preparers and auditors.Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensure control over actual expenses vs budget and participate in cash management positions and forecasting.Provide management with vital information for decision-making.Oversee the use of Yardi, our Property and Accounting software.Should have knowledge of preparing project profitability reports and percentage of completion method of accounting.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.Continuously assess accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring efficient operation and maximum technology use.Requirements:CA/CPA with 8-10 years of experience in the real estate/construction industry.Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables.Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.Must have excellent work ethic, high integrity, and follow-up skills.Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills in decision making.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.Demonstrated leadership and management skills.Superior ability to track and meet deadlines, focused on overcoming obstacles.High level of computer skills, including extensive experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting systems.Ability to take initiative and manage teams effectively.
