Business Head (Automotive Car Dealership)

Position Title: Business Head

Location: Cochin

Department: Sales, Service & Operations

Role Overview

The Business Head will be responsible for driving the overall performance, profitability, and growth of the dealership business across sales, service, spares, and customer experience. This role demands strong leadership, deep automotive industry knowledge, and the ability to manage large teams while maintaining strong OEM relationships and ensuring compliance with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities 1. Business Strategy & Growth
  • Define and implement business strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and profitability targets across all branches.
  • Drive expansion initiatives, market penetration, and brand visibility in Kerala.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor performance, and local market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
2. Sales & Service Operations
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets for new vehicles, used cars, and accessories.
  • Drive service excellence and after-sales performance including spare parts sales, workshop productivity, and service retention.
  • Maintain a strong focus on Customer Experience (CSI/NPS) metrics, ensuring exceptional standards at all touchpoints.
3. Financial & Operational Management
  • Drive financial discipline, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across branches.
  • Prepare annual budgets, monitor P&L, and implement corrective measures for variance management.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM policies, dealership standards, and statutory requirements.
4. Leadership & People Development
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a large team across sales, service, and support functions.
  • Build a high-performance culture by setting clear KPIs and conducting periodic performance reviews.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
5. OEM & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary liaison between the dealership and the OEM (Manufacturer).
  • Build strong OEM relationships to secure business support, dealer incentives, and alignment on brand strategy.
  • Represent the dealership at regional/national OEM forums, industry bodies, and business networks.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Achievement of sales & service revenue targets.
  • Dealership profitability (EBITDA, ROI).
  • Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) & Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Employee retention & engagement scores.
  • OEM compliance audit scores.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate in Engineering/Commerce/Business; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role .
  • Proven track record of managing multi-branch dealership operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, business development, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong customer orientation & market understanding (Kerala automotive market preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Relationship management with OEMs, banks, NBFCs, and stakeholders.
