The Head - Strategy and New Business Development will work closely with the COO and lead and manage the identification, development, and execution of new business opportunities. This pivotal role will drive strategic growth initiatives, explore new markets, foster partnerships, and oversee the implementation of cutting-edge strategies to achieve long-term success. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of strategic thinking, business acumen, and leadership abilities to expand the company’s footprint and revenue streams.


Key Responsibilities:

1. New Business Development:

  • Lead market expansion: Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments for growth, create innovative IPs.
  • Generate leads: Develop and execute strategies to generate leads, including partnerships, acquisitions, and other business development channels.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships: Explore and negotiate strategic partnerships and collaborations to expand the company’s reach and capabilities.
  • Revenue generation: Create and manage a robust pipeline for new business opportunities, ensuring consistent growth in revenue and profitability.

2. Strategy Development:

  • Strategic vision: Develop and communicate the company’s strategic business development goals, aligning with the organization’s overall objectives.
  • Business model innovation: Drive the creation and implementation of innovative business models, go-to-market strategies, and value propositions.
  • Competitor analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the industry.
  • Data-driven insights: Leverage data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and measure the success of business development initiatives.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with senior leadership: Collaborate closely with the executive team to define and prioritize business development goals and strategies.
  • Align with internal teams: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment in business development efforts and maximize growth opportunities.
  • Resource management: Lead the allocation of resources and budgets for business development initiatives, ensuring effective execution.

4. Relationship Management:

  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients to drive new business opportunities.
  • Networking and outreach: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to foster relationships with potential partners and clients.
  • Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and long-term partnerships.

5. Reporting and Metrics:

  • Track and report performance: Monitor the performance of business development initiatives, providing regular reports to senior leadership on key outcomes and growth metrics.
  • ROI analysis: Ensure that the ROI for all new business efforts is maximized, analyzing costs versus benefits and adjusting strategies accordingly.


Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position Or in a CEO/COO's office kind of a role.
  • Industry expertise: Proven understanding of market dynamics, competition, and customer needs.
  • Leadership skills: Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strategic thinker: Ability to see the big picture, make data-driven decisions, and craft long-term strategies for growth.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills: Experience in negotiating large-scale deals and partnerships.
