Woxsen University | Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture

The successful candidate will be a passionate and innovative educator with a strong commitment to design excellence, research, and professional practice.
Responsibilities:
Teaching:Design studios at all levels (undergraduate and graduate)
- Core architecture courses (e.g., building technology, history/theory, design history)
- May include elective courses in areas of specialization (e.g., sustainable design, digital design, urban design)
Research:Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas of architectural and design scholarship, such as:
- Design theory and history
- Building technology and performance
- Digital design and fabrication
- Sustainable and resilient design
- Urban design and planning
- Architectural history and theory
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, books, and other scholarly outlets.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Seek external funding to support research activities.
Service:Serve on departmental and university committees.
- Participate in professional service activities, such as jury service, professional organizations, and community engagement.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and program assessment.
Qualifications:
Assistant Professor:Terminal degree in Architecture (M.Arch or Ph.D.) or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service.
- Strong design portfolio and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Associate Professor:All qualifications for Assistant Professor, plus:
- A distinguished record of scholarly and creative activity, including publications, presentations, and external funding.
- Successful experience in teaching, mentoring, and advising students.
- Evidence of leadership and service within the profession and the academic community.
