This role is pivotal to ensuring our research, analysis, and policy-driven content reach a larger, more engaged audience.
Role Overview:
The App Growth Manager will lead efforts to scale our digital platforms, ensuring that the app and website resonate with policymakers, thought leaders, and an informed public. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a passion for news and policy, and the technical acumen to drive user acquisition, retention, and engagement in a competitive digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy and Execution
Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to grow the app on iOS and Android platforms, ensuring maximum reach and impact.
Stay abreast of policy and political developments (both national and international) to align app content and campaigns with current events and trends.
Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns to attract and engage users who are passionate about policy and governance.
Leverage tools like SEO , SEM , and App Store Optimization (ASO) to enhance app visibility and drive organic growth.
Data-Driven Insights
Use analytics tools like Google Analytics and SEO platforms to track performance, analyze user behavior, and inform strategic decisions.
Regularly review key performance metrics (e.g., retention rates, engagement patterns, session duration) to identify areas for improvement and innovation. Create actionable reports from comparative analytics to ensure the app meets or exceeds engagement and retention standards.
Develop detailed user personas to understand content consumption patterns, enabling personalized and relevant user journeys.
Benchmark app performance against industry standards to set ambitious, achievable growth goals.
Provide granular insights to stakeholders with drill-down analytics for highly localized strategies.
Innovation and Experimentation
Experiment with innovative growth tactics, including gamification, referral programs, and content-led engagement strategies.
Test and refine app features to optimize usability and ensure alignment with the needs of a policy-focused audience.
Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into the app’s growth strategy.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate closely with content, research, and technical teams to align app strategies with the think tank’s overarching goals.
Effectively present campaign strategies, performance reports, and actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
Build and manage partnerships with platforms and organizations to amplify the app’s reach and influence.
Key Requirements
Proven Experience : A strong track record in app growth and digital marketing, preferably in a policy, news, or knowledge-driven environment.
Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze data and user behavior to inform decisions, with experience using tools like Google Analytics and Firebase .
Interest in Policy and Governance : A passion for public policy, politics, and current affairs, with the ability to translate these interests into impactful growth strategies.
Technical Acumen : Familiarity with SEO , SEM , and app optimization techniques.
Strategic Vision : A forward-thinking approach to identifying opportunities for growth and setting measurable, ambitious goals.
Strong Communication : Excellent skills in presenting ideas, data insights, and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with a policy think tank , media house, or digital platform focused on governance and politics.
Expertise in user engagement strategies tailored to intellectual and informed audiences.
Familiarity with gamification, community-building, and referral programs in app growth.
