Role Overview

We are seeking talented Electrochemists with experience in battery materials and electrochemical processes to join our team. You will play a critical role in advancing sodium-ion battery technology, focusing on material synthesis, electrochemical research, and scaling up production. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an emerging field while working closely with industry leaders and research partners.


Key Responsibilities:


1.Electrochemical Research:

·      Contribute to R&D on electrochemical processes and material interactions for sodium-ion cells.

·      Optimize electrode materials for higher energy density, cycle life, and safety.

2.Material Synthesis and Characterization:

·      Reproduce and refine synthesis of electrode materials.

·      Facilitate and interpret material characterization using tools like XRD, TGA, SEM, and TEM.

3.Electrochemical Testing:

·      Perform charge/discharge cycling, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to evaluate cell performance.

·      Validate multi-layer pouch cells for improved energy density and extended cycle life

4.Process Development and Scale-Up:

·      Translate lab-scale processes to pilot-scale production using advanced equipment

·      Co-develop and implement SOPs for material handling and synthesis.

5.Sustainability and Localization:

·      Leverage indigenous raw materials to enhance sustainability and reduce costs.

·      Coordinate with suppliers for technical feedback and ensure quality control

·      Contribute to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and reduce carbon footprints in production.

6.Collaboration and Innovation:

·      Collaborate with research partner to ensure reproducibility and scalability.

·      Participate in specialized trainings at IIT Kharagpur and similar facilities

·      Identify and contribute to sodium-ion battery innovations.

7.Documentation and Reporting:

·      Maintain meticulous records of experiments, analyse data, and prepare reports for stakeholders and management.


Qualifications and Skills


Education:

MSc in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields.


Experience:

3+ years in battery R&D, focusing on material development and electrochemical testing (sodium-ion experience preferred, lithium-ion experience acceptable).

Hands-on experience with material synthesis, cell and battery testing methods.


Technical Skills:

Proficient in electrochemical testing (EIS, CV, charge/discharge cycling).

Experience with characterization tools like XRD, SEM, TGA, and TEM.

Knowledge of material synthesis and optimization for energy storage applications.


Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective collaboration and communication skills.

Commitment to scientific rigor and meticulous documentation.
