We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President - Business Consulting.Principal responsibilitiesAct as delegate in POD Lead / Delivery Lead's absence — contribute to meetings, oversee JIRA reviews with Data Leads, and help to triage delivery issues.Support/maintain programme dashboard ("Mission Control"): Update milestone RAGs, commentary, blockers, and resourcing tracking.Own the action log with Model Delivery: Chase stakeholders, log dependencies, and escalate as required.Review and validate code (Python/PySpark) used for model data prep to ensure consistency and efficiency.Act as a hands-on reviewer: Validate that transformations meet the business rules and regulatory expectations and there is alignment to the Combined Requirements file.QA outputs from modellers and analysts — row counts, nulls, duplicates, distributions, and DQ checks.Raise tech debt or inefficiencies and track them in JIRA or confluence for resolution.Support as a point person for data leads, modellers, and infra during PO absence.Join working group meetings and provide accurate, concise readouts.Ensure alignment across teams by joining the dots (e.g. CSS readiness, model assumptions, infra timelines)Managing senior business stakeholders. Understand business challenge and convert to data solutionParticipate in design of data solution along with senior product ownersUse of data to improve customer outcomes through the provision of insight and challengeSpot risks early and raise with you before they become fire drills.Suggest improvements to process, code, or delivery rhythm without needing direction.Actively always maintain documentation and artefacts so we're audit-ready.QualificationsHigh proficiency in using MS Excel for analysis and dashboarding purposes.Strong skills in reviewing and polishing Word documentation for areas such as data sourcing, lineage, and transformations.Strong DA who are keen to develop into more of a management /delivery role, provided they had strong Business and data knowledge, and good data analysis skills, and could evidence some leadership skills in delivering their programs.Experience on data related projects - data analysis, experience of delivery, DQ issues resolution etc.SME knowledge of WCL type products; knowledge of Risk management processes/credit lifecycle; grasp of the type of systems we source data from and the type of data available, and how it is used e.g. in credit models.SDLC - systems development lifecycle – experience of and able to talk to the stages of the E2E delivery phases a definite plus.Can demonstrate reasonable data analysis experience (BAs typically do UAT testing, exploratory analysis to draft specs etc).Doesn't need to be a python/Pyspark expert but would have to demonstrate they have done significant analysis of data using a language e.g. SQL and could pick up JN/python/Pyspark (not to DS standard but should demonstrate reasonable ability to learn new tools).Also talk to the issues and challenges typically encountered on data provisioning projects - e.g. DQ, timeliness, golden vs other sources, finding out about unknown systemsStakeholder management/Issues resolution – demonstrates working with cross functional teams to capture requirements, resolve issues and manage delivery.Project management skills a plus - not PM roles, but any lead BA will do a significant amount of delivery managementDoesn't need to be a python/Pyspark expert but would have to demonstrate they have done significant analysis of data using a language e.g. SQL and could pick up JN/python/Pyspark (not to DS standard but should demonstrate reasonable ability to learn new tools).Also talk to the issues and challenges typically encountered on data provisioning projects - e.g. DQ, timeliness, golden vs other sources, finding out about unknown systemsStakeholder management/Issues resolution – demonstrates working with cross functional teams to capture requirements, resolve issues and manage delivery.Project management skills a plus - not PM roles, but any lead BA will do a significant amount of delivery managementProven stakeholder management capabilitiesProven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutionsBesides strong written and verbal communication skills the incumbent is also expected to have strong presentation skills.You'll achieve more at HSBCHSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
