JOB PURPOSE:
The Head of Admissions is responsible for the outreach, selecting and enrolling of a diverse wise of high-quality students for HSB.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategy
- Develop long-term strategies and implementation plans in accordance with enrolment priorities and mission of HSB. Works with senior leadership, faculty, and other key personnel to develop and articulate admissions priorities and philosophy.
- Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure development of marketing plans, develop admissions strategies and programs that are consistent with the overall strategy of HSB.
Admissions and Outreach
- Organizes and manages all activities to attract a diverse class of high-quality applicants to the HSB. Represents HSB at various external organizations and associations.
- Conduct presentations (e.g., schools, conferences, networking events and academic fairs) to promote HSB and attract prospective students and their families.
- Provides direction to the team with respect to outreach, admission and the development and implementation of strategies to retain high-quality applicants from groups that are underrepresented.
- Provide ongoing consultation to prospective applicants and their families.
- Administers the evaluation and decision process of the admissions committee for establishing admissions standards and for evaluating and making final admit/deny decisions.
- Reviews and reads applications; interviews prospective students; responds to applicant inquiries; and counsels prospective students and their families regarding the admissions process, test-taking strategies, curriculum, etc.
- Oversees the planning of all admissions events held on/off-campus.
People Management
- Leads and manages the admissions team by providing vision, objectives and expectations of work performance that support the admissions office and its activities.
Financial Aid Activities
- Works closely with the internal stakeholders to develop a yearly plan for financial aid awards. Serves as a member of the Financial Aid Committee, which determines financial aid award packages for admitted students.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- MBA with focus areas in Marketing or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
- 10 to 15 years of experience in Admissions, preferably in a higher education institution or equivalent.
