About Data Engineer RoleWe are seeking a talented Freelance Data Engineer to join our dynamic team, dedicated to protecting businesses and organizations against cyber threats. Our proactive approach involves continuous monitoring and testing of digital environments to identify vulnerabilities before threats arise.With expertise in Apache NiFi and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, the ideal candidate will design and build real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines. Key Responsibilities:Data Ingestion Pipeline Design: Develop scalable solutions leveraging NiFi for both structured and unstructured datasets.Pipeline Integration: Integrate ingestion and processing pipelines with the GCP ecosystem, including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Composer (Airflow).Data Movement Optimization: Ensure low-latency and high-throughput data movement across ingestion, processing, and storage layers.SQL Query Development: Develop and optimize SQL queries for BigQuery and relational databases to support analytics and reporting.Python Scripting: Build Python scripts for data transformation, automation, and developing custom NiFi processors.Data Quality Checks: Implement data quality checks, validation rules, deduplication, late-arriving data handling, and robust error-handling frameworks.Collaboration: Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and platform engineering teams to deliver analytics-ready datasets.Data Security: Apply data security, GCP IAM policies, VPC Service Controls, and encryption standards to maintain compliance.Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance to ensure stability and reliability.Documentation: Document data flows, architecture diagrams, transformation logic, and operational best practices.This role offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of our organization.
