Job Description:

We are seeking a Payroll Operations Executive to join our team. The role will involve managing end to end payroll and compliance vertical. The incumbent will have to manage all aspects of the payroll processing, accounting, C&B, labour law compliance, collaborate closely with our Payroll vendor and handle HRMS Payroll execution.


Functional Competencies: Payroll execution (India)/Statutory payroll compliance / Managing Audits


Key Role & Responsibilities:

  • The role requires excellent knowledge of payroll and statutory compliances such as PF, gratuity, labour law and tax compliance and tax planning instruments such as NPS, car lease etc. along with upcoming compliances such as labour codes
  • Good knowledge of tax, PF and financial wellbeing interventions along with ability to manage multiple stakeholders internally and external vendors with an eye for detail is a must
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing. Gather, validate attendance and compensation data
  • Calculations of Variable pay, supporting the Compensation & Benefit policy with salary structure design. Calculate gross-to-net pay, deductions, and withholdings in compliance with all relevant tax and labour regulations. Managing payroll benefits such as car lease, NPS, Flexi basket etc.
  • Review preliminary payroll registers and make any necessary adjustments prior to final payroll approval. Oversee the payroll accounting function, including general ledger postings, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Ensure accurate recording of payroll liabilities, taxes, and other related financial transactions
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team and vendor to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Manage payroll-related employee inquiries and requests, providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain detailed payroll records and documentation, preparing reports as needed
  • Manage internal and external audits
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with the team to enhance efficiency and accuracy


Key Requirement:

  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, Indian tax regulations, and labour laws
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in using Microsoft excel, HRIS, payroll and accounting software, with the ability to extract and manipulate data
  • String communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adaptable and proactive problem-solver, able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field


Qualifications:

  • B.A Hons. Degree in Maths/Statistics/Commerce
  • 3+ years of handling end to end payroll with a mid-size global organization
  • Experience of handling payroll on GreytHR/HRone will be an added benefit
