Job DescriptionThe primary objective of this role is to lead and oversee the implementation of a district program in India, specifically focusing on capacity building within Karnataka.Develop strategic plans for the model district program, including collaborations with state government agencies.Supervise and assist in the implementation of the program across various districts in Karnataka.Foster working relationships with stakeholders, including state police, forest training academies, judicial training institutes, and Indian Railways, to enhance capacity building efforts.Design and deliver needs-based curricula for animal law training, assessing gaps in capacity and developing creative pedagogies to ensure knowledge retention.Serve as training faculty for law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders on animal law across the state.Promote fundraising opportunities and work with the Manager, Fundraising, to finalize and submit proposals.Manage staff, providing guidance, advice, training, performance management, leadership development, and career development to achieve team goals.Required Skills and QualificationsTo excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:A graduate degree or equivalent work experience in animal protection or a related field.At least seven years of experience in animal protection work, preferably with management/supervisory experience and team leadership skills.Strong knowledge of the animal protection movement in India, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.Flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to anticipate the needs of self and staff.Excellent interpersonal and intervention skills, with the ability to manage issues requiring conflict resolution.BenefitsThis role offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to contribute to meaningful animal welfare initiatives.OthersThis position requires strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
