Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Value Chain Expert in Poultry with 5-7 years of experience in Poultry Value Chain Management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of poultry production, processing, and market systems, along with a proven track record of managing and optimizing value chains for sustainable impact. If you are passionate about transforming the poultry sector and have the expertise to lead end-to-end value chain initiatives, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the entire poultry value chain, from production to market integration, ensuring sustainable and efficient practices.
Develop and implement strategies to strengthen poultry production, processing, and market linkages.
Collaborate with farmers, local communities, and industry stakeholders to improve poultry health, productivity, and profitability.
Analyze market trends and opportunities to optimize the poultry supply chain and increase value for all stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and capacity-building support to farmers and local partners on best practices in poultry management.
Oversee quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring that value chain activities are aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable impact.
Prepare and present reports on the progress and outcomes of value chain initiatives to senior management and funding partners.
Qualifications :
MVSc or higher in Poultry Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in Poultry Value Chain Management , with a strong understanding of production, processing, and marketing.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing value chain strategies in the poultry sector.
Experience in working with rural communities, farmers, and livestock stakeholders.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Ability to analyze data, market trends, and develop practical solutions.
Knowledge of government policies and industry regulations related to the poultry sector is a plus.
