Job Title: Senior OBIEE Developer

Position Overview:

The Senior OBIEE Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) solutions. This role requires a deep expertise in OBIEE, strong SQL and reporting skills, and extensive experience in data warehousing and dimensional modelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report and Dashboard Design: Develop and design complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards using OBIEE. Ensure that reports and dashboards meet business requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • SQL Expertise: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support reporting and data analysis requirements. Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from Oracle databases.
  • RPD Modelling: Design, create, and maintain OBIEE Repository (RPD) models, including the physical, logical, and presentation layers. Ensure that RPD models are optimized for performance and accuracy.
  • Data Warehousing & Dimensional Modeling: Apply strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling techniques to develop and manage data structures. Implement best practices for data integration, aggregation, and analysis.
  • OBIEE & OAS Integration: Focus primarily on OBIEE to develop BI solutions, with additional responsibilities involving Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) to support and enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of OBIEE reports, dashboards, and RPD models. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide expertise and guidance on BI best practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation for BI solutions, including design specifications, user guides, and technical manuals. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in OBIEE development with a proven track record of designing and implementing BI solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in OBIEE report/dashboard design, SQL development, and RPD modeling. In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling.
  • OBIEE & OAS Skills: Extensive experience with OBIEE 11g/12c or Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAS). Ability to manage and develop solutions using OBIEE with some experience in OAS.
  • Database Skills: Proficiency with Oracle databases and SQL. Experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex BI solutions and data integration tasks.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced certifications in OBIEE or BI tools are advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other BI tools or technologies beyond OBIEE and OAS.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced data visualization techniques.
