The primary goal of a Production Planner is to ensure the smooth movement of materials from suppliers to the production floor, supporting the manufacturing process to complete customer orders efficiently. The key objective is to balance competing objectives to maximize customer service, minimize supply chain costs, and optimize inventory control.To achieve this, the Production Planner will create material inventory/purchasing plans, capacity plans, and forecast based on customer demands, sales trends, and information received from sales teams. This will help reduce response time to customer demands and increase market share.Responsibilities:Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demandsManage material inventory and purchasing plans to minimize stockouts and overstockingCollaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve any supply issuesMonitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiencyIdentify changes in capacity or material availability and elevate issues to management if necessaryA Production Planner requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. They must have a good understanding of ERP systems, particularly SAP, and experience with reporting tools.Requirements:5-8 years of experience in planning and production within a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environmentMinimum 3 years of direct collaboration with vendors and planners at sister facilities to acquire parts and meet production needsAt least 2 years of hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems in material planningDemonstrable knowledge of modern ERP systems, including strong understanding of MPS/MRPStrong IT skills with a zeal to learn new operating/reporting processesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to multitask in a complex, tight-schedule environmentVery good communication skills in English
