Job Title: Data Engineering SpecialistAs a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building a robust data platform using the medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers). Your role will involve developing efficient data pipelines, implementing data transformations, creating analytical data models, and ensuring data quality across the platform.Key Responsibilities:Expert in SQL with an ability to write complex queries comfortablyKnowledge of SQL performance optimization techniques and adherence to best practices when writing SQL queriesImplementation of end-to-end data pipelines following medallion architecture patterns (bronze, silver, gold layers)Design and optimization of data transformations using SQL for large-scale data processingDevelopment of dimensional data models, aggregations, and KPI calculations in the gold layer for analytics consumptionImplementation of data ingestion pipelines from multiple source systems including databases, APIs, and file-based sourcesCreation and maintenance of data transformation logic using transformation frameworksDesign and implementation of data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring across all pipeline stagesManagement of workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow or similar orchestration toolsRequirements:Strong experience in data engineering building production-grade data pipelines and writing SQL queriesAdvanced SQL skills including complex queries, window functions, CTEs, and query performance tuningStrong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and data warehousing conceptsStrong expertise in building data pipelines and query optimizationProficiency in Python for data engineering tasks and automationHands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools: Apache Airflow, Dagster, or PrefectExperience with data lake storage formats: Delta Lake, Parquet, or IcebergExperience with data quality frameworks and implementing validation rules at scale; familiarity with Great Expectations or similar data quality testing frameworksDeploy and manage data platforms in on-premises environmentsPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics2+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong background in SQLProven track record of delivering high-quality data pipelines and data productsFamiliarity with cloud-based data storage solutions such as AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage
