Procurement Strategist

Deputy General Managers are strategic leaders who play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement landscape of an organization.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Procurement & Category Management:Develop and execute category strategies for direct materials, indirect materials, and consumablesConduct spend analysis and implement cost-saving initiativesLead supplier scouting, qualification, and onboarding for sterile manufacturing plantAlternate Vendor Development:Identify, evaluate, and onboard alternate vendors for key raw materials, packaging materials, and critical componentsConduct market research and benchmarking to identify potential suppliers globally and locallyEnsure compliance with regulatory and quality standards during vendor selectionDigitalization & Tech Enablement:Enable procurement digitalization initiativesLeverage ERP systems and procurement analytics tools for data-driven decision-makingCollaborate with IT and digital teams to automate workflows and improve procurement cycle efficiencyOperational Procurement:Ensure timely procurement aligned with production and inventory plansManage RFQs, negotiations, and contract finalizationMonitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain disruptionsConduct risk assessment and prepare mitigation planDevelop sourcing strategies to reduce dependency on single vendors and high-risk geographiesCompliance & Quality:Ensure adherence to GMP, GDP, and other regulatory standardsCoordinate with QA/QC for vendor audits and material specificationsMaintain documentation for regulatory inspections and internal/external auditsVendor & Stakeholder Management:Build strategic relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholdersMonitor vendor KPIs (OTIF, quality, cost) and drive continuous improvementLead cross-functional collaboration with planning, production, and finance teamsTeam Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionalsDrive capability building, performance management, and digital skill development
