Search Solutions EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Search Solutions Engineer to join our team and help us build the backbone of our data engine from the ground up. As a key member of our senior team, you will have the opportunity to work on a green-field project and make a significant impact on our product.The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environments, as well as expertise in Python and AI/ML-based search experiences such as RAG, learning to rank, and query understanding.In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing search solutions, including custom analyzers, tokenizers, and scoring algorithms. You will also work closely with our data engineers and product teams to deliver high-quality search experiences.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement search solutions using OpenSearch/ElasticsearchCreate and maintain index templates, mappings, and lifecycle policiesBuild and optimize custom query builders and search pipelinesLeverage LLMs and AI for data enrichment and improved search relevanceDevelop and maintain robust, scalable APIs for search using Python (FastAPI)Lead efforts in integration, regression, and performance testingAutomate deployment and management of search infrastructureCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality search experiencesRequirements:5+ years experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environmentsExpert level expertise in Python, with experience building APIs (preferably FastAPI)Deep understanding of search concepts: analyzers, tokenizers, relevance tuning, custom scoring, and query DSLExperience with index template management, lifecycle policies, and large-scale data modelingProficiency in designing and optimizing search pipelines and custom query buildersMust have practical hands-on experience developing software using AI-assisted tools and workflowsStrong testing background: integration, regression, and performance testingDevOps skills: automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)Excellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with S3, AWS Lambda, and cloud-native architectures
