The Senior Director Legal role involves overseeing all legal, compliance, and governance matters for India operations.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary legal representative ensuring alignment with global objectives.Support regional initiatives, compliance rollouts, and corporate structuring activities.Provide risk-based, business-oriented legal guidance to leadership and operational teams.Advise on employee relations, contracts, policies, and disciplinary actions.Ensure employment documentation and practices are compliant with Indian labor, employment, and data protection laws.Partner with HR and regional legal to support workforce transitions, investigations, and terminations.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate secretarial matters, and board documentation.Monitor outsourcing and data transfer regulations, ensuring global client expectations are met.Implement risk mitigation measures for audits, inspections, and due diligence.Evaluate adherence to digital personal data protection frameworks and ensure lawful cross-border data transfer practices.Manage pre-litigation strategy, coordinate external counsel, and oversee disputes or regulatory inquiries.Track and maintain dispute and compliance documentation.Conduct regular legal risk assessments.Review and revise client and vendor agreements to ensure compliance with company standards.Identify key risk areas, propose mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations.Maintain global contract templates and resources adapted for India, ensuring applicable guidelines are followed.Manage litigation strategy, coordinate external counsel, and oversee notices and regulatory inquiries.Maintain dispute and compliance documentation, conduct regular legal risk assessments.In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our India operations' success.
