Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Search Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design and implement search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, focusing on optimizing query pipelines, building custom query builders, and developing AI/ML-powered search experiences.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Implement Search Solutions: Develop efficient search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, emphasizing query pipeline optimization, custom query builder creation, and AI/ML-powered search experience development.Index and Template Management: Manage index templates, mappings, and lifecycle policies to ensure data integrity and relevance.Query Pipeline Development: Build and optimize custom query builders and search pipelines to enhance search experience efficiency.AI/ML Powered Search: Leverage large language models for data enrichment and improved search relevance.API Development: Utilize Python (FastAPI) to create APIs that integrate with search infrastructure.Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.DevOps and Automation: Automate deployment and management of search infrastructure using DevOps skills.RequirementsExperience in Elasticsearch/OpenSearch: 5+ years of experience in production environments.AI/ML-Based Search Experience: Familiarity with RAG, learning to rank, and query understanding concepts.Expertise in Python: Proficiency in Python, with experience building APIs (preferably FastAPI).Search Concepts: Deep understanding of analysers, tokenisers, relevance tuning, custom scoring, and query DSL.Index Template Management: Experience with creating and managing index templates, lifecycle policies, and large-scale data modelling.Search Pipeline Optimization: Ability to design and optimize search pipelines and custom query builders.AI-Assisted Software Development: Hands-on experience with software development using AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Co-pilot, and Windsurf.Strong Testing Background: Experience with integration, regression, and performance testing.DevOps Skills: Proficiency in automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills.Cloud-Native Experience: Familiarity with S3, AWS Lambda, and cloud-native architectures.
