Job Description:A Head Commercial, particularly one who is a Chartered Accountant (CA), is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability, revenue, and sustainable growth for an organization. Key duties include overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, managing financial risks, ensuring regulatory and tax compliance, supporting pricing strategies, and driving overall commercial growth by identifying market opportunities and fostering client relationships. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning: Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company's goals and drive profitability and growth. Financial Oversight: Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to maximize profitability. Risk Management: Manage financial and commercial risks, including foreign exchange risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, internal audits, and relevant industry standards like cGMP or GDP. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and understand customer needs. Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders across departments. Pricing & Costing: Support pricing strategies with accurate cost data and insights from product cost analysis and variance evaluations. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment. Reporting: Develop and present financial and commercial performance reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior leadership. Typical QualificationsEducation: A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is often a requirement, indicating strong financial and accounting expertise. Experience: Significant experience (often 12+ years) in finance, with a strong background in commercial management, manufacturing, or project-based businesses.
