About the Role:
The Business Intelligence Manager will play a critical role in driving data strategy and insights across our e-commerce operations. This remote role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help guide business decisions and optimize our performance across all sales channels, including online marketplaces, direct-to-consumer (DTC) platforms, and offline retail partners. You will also be responsible for working across teams in the organization and encouraging data-driven decisions through actionable insights that you generate. Whilst a technical expert, you will need to be able to communicate your insights to the wider business using different approaches and styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Warehouse Design & Management
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable data warehouse architecture to consolidate data from multiple sources (e-commerce platforms, marketing, logistics and operations) into a unified repository.
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is accurately ingested, cleaned, and structured for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data integration requirements and ensure data consistency across systems.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and enhance data dashboards and reports, focusing on KPIs that relate to OKRs such as customer retention rate, conversion rates, average order value, and individual product sales.
Performance Optimization
- Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve sales, marketing ROI, and overall profitability across channels.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with marketing, sales, product development, and finance teams to align data insights with strategic objectives, supporting initiatives from targeted ad campaigns to new product launches.
Sales Channel Insights
- Monitor and analyze performance across various channels (e.g., TikTok, Amazon, Shopify, Lazada, Shopee), providing data-backed recommendations for optimization.
Customer Segmentation & Behavior Analysis
- Use customer data to create segmentation models, enabling personalized marketing efforts, and improving customer retention.
Forecasting & Predictive Modeling
- Assist in forecasting demand, seasonal trends, and market dynamics to guide inventory planning, budgeting, and strategic growth efforts.
Data Strategy Development
- Work with leadership to evolve our data strategy, including best practices for data collection, storage, governance, and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role, preferably within e-commerce or retail.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Excel. Experience with Python or R is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, should be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work cross-functionally.
- E-commerce Knowledge: Familiarity with e-commerce metrics and platforms (Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, or similar) and an understanding of online retail dynamics.
- Detail-oriented: High attention to detail, especially in data accuracy, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing discrepancies.
- Growth Mindset: Self-motivated with a passion for learning, staying updated on e-commerce trends, and implementing best practices.
