Job DescriptionWe're seeking a seasoned social media expert to lead our cannabis industry initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a content strategy that drives engagement across multiple platforms.Create high-quality, compliant cannabis content: videos, posts, stories, infographics, blog snippets, and campaign creatives.Maintain a consistent brand voice aligned with cannabis culture and regulations.Build and engage with an online community of cannabis enthusiasts, business partners, and industry stakeholders.Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries while ensuring compliant communication.Manage influencer partnerships and user-generated content creators in cannabis-friendly regions.Plan and execute campaigns for product launches, events, partnerships, and awareness drives.Monitor platform changes and leverage growth opportunities without violating cannabis advertising policies.Run organic campaigns; support paid campaigns where allowed (geo + policy compliant).Track performance metrics: reach, impressions, follower growth, engagement, CTR, traffic, conversions.Build weekly/monthly dashboards with insights and recommendations.Run competitor benchmarking and trend analysis.Ensure all content adheres to cannabis advertising restrictions (state-level rules, age gating, platform policies).Implement risk-reduction strategies for shadow bans, account restrictions, and content takedowns.Required Skills & Experience2–5 years social media experience, with 1–2 years specifically in the cannabis industry.Strong understanding of METRC, seed-to-sale workflows, cannabis product types, and consumer personas is a bonus.Experience with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut) and social media scheduling platforms.Ability to create visually strong and high-performing video content.Strong writing skills for educational and storytelling content.Understanding of community-sensitive topics: compliance, potency, strain education, medical vs. adult-use differences.
