- Develop and manage a platform-specific content strategy (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok*, X, YouTube, etc.).
- Create high-quality, educational, compliant cannabis content: reels, posts, stories, infographics, blog snippets, and campaign creatives.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice aligned with cannabis culture and regulations.
- Build and engage with an online community of cannabis consumers, B2B partners, industry operators, and advocates.
- Respond to comments, DMs, and inquiries while ensuring compliant communication.
- Manage influencer partnerships and UGC creators in cannabis-friendly regions.
- Plan and execute campaigns for product launches, events, partnerships, and awareness drives.
- Monitor platform changes and leverage growth opportunities without violating cannabis advertising policies.
- Run organic campaigns; support paid campaigns where allowed (geo + policy compliant).
- Track performance metrics: reach, impressions, follower growth, engagement, CTR, traffic, conversions.
- Build weekly/monthly dashboards with insights and recommendations.
- Run competitor benchmarking and trend analysis.
- Ensure all content adheres to cannabis advertising restrictions (state-level rules, age gating, platform policies).
- Implement risk-reduction strategies for shadow bans, account restrictions, and content takedowns.
- 2–5 years social media experience, with 1–2 years specifically in the cannabis industry (cultivation, retail, CBD, hemp, accessories, or ancillary platforms).
- Strong understanding of METRC, seed-to-sale workflows, cannabis product types, and consumer personas is a bonus.
- Experience with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut) and social media scheduling platforms.
- Ability to create visually strong and high-performing video content.
- Strong writing skills for educational and storytelling content.
- Understanding of community-sensitive topics: compliance, potency, strain education, medical vs. adult-use differences.
- Experience managing cannabis brand accounts across multiple markets (US, Canada, Thailand).
- Knowledge of 280E limits, dispensary operations, or wholesale cannabis workflow.
- Experience with influencer management, collaborations, and brand ambassadorships.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with cultivation, operations, and sales teams.
- A passion for cannabis culture, wellness, and industry evolution.
- A data-driven approach with creative instincts.
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
