Head Accountant

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Head Accountant to lead our finance and accounting function. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounts, oversee financial reporting, drive compliance, streamline processes, and ensure smooth financial operations for a fast-growing organization.This is a hybrid role, requiring a mix of in-office presence and remote working.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management & Reporting- Oversee complete accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements- Maintain MIS reports and present financial insights to leadership- Track cash flow, budgets, and expenses for all departments2. Compliance & Audit- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, PF/ESI, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements- Coordinate with external auditors for statutory and internal audits- Prepare and file all monthly/quarterly returns on time3. Process Management & Controls- Set up and refine internal financial controls- Create SOPs for accounting workflows and approval processes- Implement cost-control measures and improve financial efficiency- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of all financial data4. Vendor & Client Finance Management- Monitor vendor payments, contracts, and reconciliation- Manage client invoicing, collections, and follow-ups- Maintain transparent records of outstanding receivables and payablesRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com / M.Com)- CA / CMA (intermediate or final) preferred but not mandatory- 5–10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead role- Strong knowledge of Tally / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting tools- Excellent understanding of GST, TDS, compliance rules, and audit processesSkills & Competencies- Strong analytical and numerical ability- High ownership and attention to detail- Ability to manage deadlines and multitask- Good communication and interdepartmental coordination- Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism- Problem-solving mindsetWork Environment- Hybrid role: 2–3 days in office + flexible remote days- Office Location: Chandigarh Tricity region- Work with a young, creative, fast-moving team
