Key Responsibilities1. Financial Reporting & AnalysisManage the entire month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP and USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry).Prepare detailed Management Information System (MIS) reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), variance analysis against budget and forecast, and profitability statements.Present financial results and strategic recommendations to the General Manager and ownership/corporate team.2. Statutory & Tax Compliance (Core Responsibility)Serve as the primary custodian for all Indian tax and regulatory compliance.Ensure accurate calculation, timely payment, and filing of all returns related to:GST (Goods and Services Tax), including reconciliation and handling all audits/notices.TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on vendor payments, salaries, etc.Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other local cess/taxes.Ensure strict adherence to statutory liabilities such as Provident Fund (PF) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI), and handle payroll compliance matters.Liaise effectively with tax authorities, consultants, and statutory auditors.3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic PlanningLead the annual operating budget and capital expenditure budget preparation processes in collaboration with department heads.Develop accurate, rolling financial forecasts (e.g., 3-month, 6-month outlooks) that reflect market conditions and operational strategy.Conduct feasibility studies and financial evaluations for proposed projects, new services, or major capital investments.4. Internal Controls & Operations ManagementDesign, implement, and monitor robust internal control procedures across all revenue, expenditure, and inventory cycles to prevent fraud and minimize risk.Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Fixed Assets Register.Manage the hotel's working capital, optimizing cash flow and managing bank relationships efficiently.Supervise the daily revenue audit process to ensure the integrity of cash handling and revenue recognition.5. Team Leadership & Audit ManagementLead, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the entire Finance & Accounts team.Coordinate and manage all internal, statutory, and tax audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and provided accurately and efficiently.Qualifications & Experience RequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce/Finance if no professional qualification is held.Minimum of 4-8 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years in a management capacity within the Hotel/Hospitality industry in India.Expert-level knowledge of Indian Statutory Compliance (GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI).
