Instead's CEO, Andrew Argue, is a CPA and has been named Top 100 Most Influential People in the Accounting Profession twice - Ones To Watch and CPA Practice Advisors 20 under 40.About the roleWe're seeking an experienced Head of Data & Analytics to lead the systems, data, and reporting infrastructure that power Instead's global operations. This role directly oversees IT Administration and Salesforce Billing Engineering, ensuring our technology stack runs securely, reliably, and at scale.You'll be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our data and analytics applications, ensuring teams have the insights, automation, and secure systems they need to execute effectively. This is a hands-on leadership role and will report to our SVP of business intelligence. You will collaborate closely with teams across product, finance, sales, marketing, and engineering in India and the US, while managing day-to-day execution out of our Bangalore office.What You'll DoLead and mentor the IT Administrator and Salesforce Billing Engineer, ensuring strong performance, alignment, and growth.Build and manage all product reporting and dashboards through Metabase, ensuring consistency with Tableau and Salesforce reporting frameworks.Own the administration, optimization, and strategy for our data and analytics tools, including: Tableau, Mosyle, Dbt Cloud, Hevo Data & FiveTran, EasyDMARC, Splashtop, Zapier, Metabase, Salesforce, Zoom, Snipe-IT, Salesforce Billing & CPQ, Google G Suite, Twilio, Ninja, Slack, Docusign, Polly, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, Loom and other apps as needed by company operations.Establish governance for data pipelines, reporting, and security across the company.Partner with finance, sales, and product to ensure accurate and integrated data flows between systems.Define KPIs and reporting standards, ensuring stakeholders have access to reliable, real-time insights.Implement and maintain strong information security measures, compliance processes, and backup/recovery protocols.Collaborate with US and India leadership to ensure IT, Salesforce, and analytics tools scale effectively with business growth.What you'll need:8+ years of experience in data, analytics, or systems leadership with hands-on ownership of data infrastructure and reporting tools.Proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams, including IT and Salesforce/RevOps roles.Strong technical expertise with at least several tools in our stack (Tableau, dbt, Hevo, FiveTran, Metabase, Zapier, Mosyle, EasyDMARC, Splashtop, Salesforce, Zoom, Snipe-IT, Salesforce Billing & CPQ, Google G Suite, Twilio, Ninja, Slack,Docusign, Polly, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, and Loom).Solid background in data governance, integrations, and reporting best practices.Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and aligning priorities with executive leadership.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Nice to have:Experience in fintech, SaaS, or accounting/tax technology environments.Familiarity with SOC 2, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks.Hands-on Salesforce CPQ/Billing experience.Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology company.Why join usLead and scale the data, analytics, and systems foundation of a cutting-edge tax technology company.Oversee a critical global function spanning IT, Salesforce Billing, and business intelligence.Be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team.Competitive compensation and benefits.Growth opportunities in leadership, compliance, and advanced data strategy.Direct impact on how Instead runs, scales, and makes data-driven decisions.Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/D/VAs a global business, we rely on diversity of culture and thought to deliver on our goals.
