Job Description: WordPress Developer

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in custom WordPress theme and plugin development, as well as experience with WooCommerce, multiple page builders, and debugging complex issues. The developer should have over 2 years of experience in the field and be comfortable working with other technologies, including Shopify.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Custom WordPress Development : Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins that align with client requirements and standards.
  • WooCommerce Management : Customize WooCommerce functionalities, including developing extensions, payment gateway integrations, and custom checkout processes.
  • Multi-Page Builder Expertise : Work with various WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, Gutenberg) to build custom websites and landing pages.
  • Debugging & Troubleshooting : Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with WordPress sites, including performance issues, plugin conflicts, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Cross-Platform Knowledge : Integrate WordPress with other platforms such as Shopify, and have the capability to work on projects that involve different technologies.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with the design team to ensure that the final product adheres to the proposed design and user experience.
  • Optimization & Performance Tuning : Ensure high-performance and availability of WordPress sites, including optimizing code and assets for speed.
  • Security & Compliance : Implement best practices for WordPress security, including regular updates, monitoring, and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Maintenance & Support : Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing websites, including bug fixes, updates, and improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a WordPress developer.
  • Custom Development : Proven experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • WooCommerce : In-depth understanding of WooCommerce and its extension ecosystem.
  • Multiple Page Builders : Experience with popular WordPress page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, and Gutenberg.
  • Debugging & Troubleshooting : Strong debugging skills to troubleshoot issues across various themes, plugins, and hosting environments.
  • Knowledge of Shopify : Experience working with Shopify, including theme customization and app integration.
  • Proficiency in Frontend Technologies : Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Backend Development : Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and REST API integrations.
  • Version Control : Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of SEO & Accessibility Best Practices : Familiarity with SEO strategies, ADA compliance, and website accessibility standards.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Other Platforms : Familiarity with other content management systems (e.g., Joomla, Drupal) and eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience with Web Hosting Environments : Knowledge of different web hosting environments (shared, VPS, dedicated) and familiarity with cPanel, WHM, etc.
  • Mobile Optimization : Understanding of mobile-first and responsive web development.
