Job DescriptionAs a seasoned Underwriter, you will be responsible for leading and guiding a team of associates to meet all Service Level Agreements (SLA's) in the Mortgage underwriting area.Key responsibilities include supervision of workflows and work queues, income calculation, 4C's, and being well-versed about the underwriting process. You will also maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, coordinate activities with the manager, and provide recommendations for strategies and process improvements.Additionally, you will lead, coach, motivate, and develop associates to deliver high-quality reports to clients, achieving or exceeding set operational targets.Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a group associates to meet all SLA's relative to any and all functions in the Mortgage underwriting area.Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports.Coordinate activities of the department with the manager to include work flow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting and special projects.Provide resolutions to complex escalated queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Lead, coach, motivate and develop associates to deliver high quality reports to the clients to achieve or exceed set operational targets.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, also generate reports as necessary.RequirementsWe are seeking an individual with excellent communication and leadership skills who is knowledgeable about the US Mortgage Industry, has experience in mortgage underwriting, and is proficient in MS Office applications.Requirements:Knowledge of the US Mortgage Industry with Mortgage underwriting experience.Good communication skills (Written and Verbal).Strong Customer Service Skills, Negotiations Skills and Leadership skills.Detail Oriented with good analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on the situation.Ability to analyze the numbers and reconcile the data if required as per requirements.Experience with reporting and analysis.Good email etiquette.Ability to handle and accomplish multiple tasks and resolve.
