We are seeking a highly skilled IoT Cloud Software Engineer to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable cloud-based solutions for our client's IoT products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative IoT solutions that meet the evolving needs of their customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality cloud-based software components and microservices using Java and other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of IoT devices.
- Develop and implement scalable and secure cloud architectures to support large-scale IoT deployments.
- Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to IoT cloud solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in IoT technologies and industry trends.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 6+ years' experience as a Software Engineer at enterprise level.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant education.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language, including object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Extensive experience in developing and deploying microservices architectures using frameworks like Spring Boot.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platform (AWS) serverless application development, event driven architecture, and their associated services (e.g., IoT Core, IoT Hub, Cloud Functions).
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and JSON.
- Understanding of IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP) and their applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Skills
- Data Acquisition and Analysis: Utilise advanced tools and analytical methods to gather data and create potential solutions.
- Code Development and Review: Produce high-quality code, conduct code reviews, and collaborate effectively with other developers.
- Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Git).
- Experience with data analytics and machine learning techniques.
- A passion for IoT and emerging technologies.
