AWS IOT Software QA Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AWS IoT Software QA Engineer to join a dynamic team. As an AWS IoT Software QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of IoT software products and services. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and security of AWS IoT applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for AWS IoT software products.
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks using Java or Python with Selenium.
  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and troubleshoot software defects.
  • Analyse test results and provide detailed defect reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal testing processes and methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in AWS IoT and software testing.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, IoT Core, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Experience with test automation tools / framework: Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, rest-assured or similar.
  • Experience with Test Management tools: X-Ray, Zephyr or similar.
  • Proficiency in test design (test case creation, test data preparation).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of IoT protocols: MQTT, CoAP, HTTP.
  • Experience with performance testing tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.


Additional Skills and Experience

  • Experience with cloud-native development and testing.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Certification in AWS IoT or related technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured working approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to effectively work in multi-functional/cross-cultural environment.
