Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a People & Culture Manager located in Chennai. The People & Culture Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and offboarding. The role requires developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, fostering a positive working environment, and managing employee relations. The manager will also ensure compliance with labor regulations and company policies, and lead efforts to enhance workplace culture.

 

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Drive recruitment for technical, business, and leadership roles.
  • Manage hiring pipelines for Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) and interns.
  • Build a strong employer brand and candidate experience.
2. Employee Experience & Engagement
  • Design and implement employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and wellness activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and support.
  • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and drive action plans to improve culture.
3. Performance & Growth
  • Support KPI/OKR-based performance management systems.
  • Track appraisals, promotions, and probation confirmations.
  • Facilitate training programs (technical, leadership, behavioral).
  • Develop succession pipelines for critical roles.
4. Culture & Values
  • Embed Greenvironment’s values of sustainability, innovation, and collaboration into HR practices.
  • Lead Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Promote transparent communication across leadership and teams.
5. People Operations & Compliance
  • Manage HR policies, payroll, and attendance through Zoho People & other HRMS.
  • Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Shops & Establishments, POSH, UAE labor requirements).
  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and documentation.
6. Organizational Development Support
  • Partner with Directors and Business Heads to understand workforce needs.
  • Provide HR insights through dashboards (attrition, hiring, training participation).
  • Support HR integration for new subsidiaries (Mu Sustainability Pvt Ltd, UAE, USA entities).
Key Competencies
  • 5–8 years of HR/People management experience in scaling companies (tech/startup/sustainability preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HRMS tools (Zoho People preferred) and Indian/UAE labor laws.
  • Ability to balance people care with compliance and process discipline.
  • Problem-solver with high empathy and cultural sensitivity.
