Lead AI ML Engineer This position will be based in India - Bangalore Pune Job Summary We are seeking a Lead AI ML Engineer to drive the design development and deployment of advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that power Maersk s digital and logistics transformation In this senior individual contributor role you will architect and deliver scalable AI ML systems across domains such as predictive analytics NLP and Generative AI enabling data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency You will collaborate closely with business product and engineering leaders to translate complex challenges into measurable AI outcomes ensuring technical excellence scalability and impact The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in building enterprise-grade AI solutions strong business acumen and the ability to influence and elevate teams through technical leadership best practices and innovation Key Responsibilities Partner with business product and engineering leaders to define complex problem statements evaluate feasibility and design AI ML-driven solutions that deliver measurable business impact o Lead and execute large-scale end-to-end AI ML initiatives including data exploration model design validation deployment and ongoing optimization in production environments o Architect and implement scalable AI ML systems leveraging data engineering machine learning NLP and Generative AI techniques o Establish best practices for solution scalability reproducibility and governance through robust MLOps CI CD and performance monitoring frameworks o Provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI ML engineers and cross-functional teams through code reviews solution design sessions and knowledge sharing o Evaluate and integrate emerging AI ML frameworks tools and technologies to enhance innovation and delivery efficiency o Communicate technical insights and translate model outcomes into actionable business recommendations using data storytelling and visualization We are looking for A seasoned AI ML professional with 10 years of hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise-scale AI ML solutions o Advanced proficiency in Python SQL PySpark and experience with cloud ecosystems Azure preferred and tools such as Databricks Synapse ADF and Azure Web Apps o Strong expertise in Applied Machine Learning NLP and Generative AI with proven experience in production-grade deployments o In-depth understanding of model lifecycle management including evaluation optimization interpretability bias mitigation and continuous monitoring o A problem solver with scientific rigor strong business acumen and the ability to bridge data science with decision-making and product outcomes o Experience leading complex AI ML projects or collaborating with global engineering teams to operationalize ML pipelines and scalable architectures o Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering Statistics or a related quantitative discipline a PhD is an added advantage o Prior exposure to the shipping and logistics domain is a plus Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and we embrace different styles of thinking Maersk is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race colour gender sex age religion creed national origin ancestry citizenship marital status sexual orientation physical or mental disability medical condition pregnancy or parental leave veteran status gender identity genetic information or any other characteristic protected by applicable law We will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all legal requirements We are happy to support your need for any adjustments during the application and hiring process If you need special assistance or an accommodation to use our website apply for a position or to perform a job please contact us by emailing
