Job Description Role Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Cutting Operator to join our sheet metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision-cut metal components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the process. Key Responsibilities - Set up and operate laser cutting machines (e.g., Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic) for sheet metal processing. - Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting requirements. - Select appropriate cutting programs, fixtures, and materials for each job. - Adjust machine settings including laser beam focal point, speed, and power for optimal cutting. - Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools. - Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment. - Identify and report defective materials or machine issues to supervisors. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols. Machine Description - Laser Source: 2kW Max - Laser Head: Raytools Auto-Focus - Control Software: Cypcut - Servo Motor & Drive: Yaskawa Qualifications & Skills - Minimum 12 years of experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing setup. - Familiarity with sheet metal materials (MS, SS, aluminum) and thickness variations. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files. - Basic knowledge of machine programming and CNC controls. - Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset. - Physically fit to handle sheet metal and stand for extended periods. - Team player with good communication and time management skills. Preferred - Experience with nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, Lantek). - Exposure to lean manufacturing or 5S practices. - Diploma or ITI in Mechanical / Fabrication / Tool & Die / Production Engineering.
